Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE tattoos. As long as the artwork and placement are great I am down. Hell if your tramp stamp is well designed I might even tell you I like it... even if I don't really like tramp stamps. I myself only have three tattoos so far. I'm saving up some money for my next one and as soon as I make my appointment I'm going back under the needle.
I thought I'd share with you my three tattoos so you can get to know more about me.
My first tattoo is my key tattoo. Done by RayRay when he was at Almighty Tattoo in Grand Blanc, MI. This tattoo I designed myself. I took the top half of Sailor Pluto's time key, tweeked it a bit and added a skeleton key bottom. I think RayRay did a great job with the shading and I get so many compliments on it because it's my one tattoo that gets shown the most.
My second tattoo is the lyrics "Each broken heart will eventually mend." from Death Cab for Cutie. I have loved that line since I was way back in high school and I knew I wanted it as a tattoo. I am really drawn to script/lyrics/quotes tattoos even though I know as you get older a lot of the time they become ineligible. This tattoo was done by Chris Hornus while he was working out of Consolidated Ink & Steel in Flint, MI. He has his own shop now in Durand.
My third (and last until I get my appointment) is my alarm clock with blinking eights on it. The idea came from the band Dashboard Confessional, in one of their songs they have the lyric, "You're measuring your minutes by a clock that's blinking eights." Once again this tattoo is the genius work of RayRay while he was still at Almighty Tattoo in Grand Blanc. I really only had a vague idea of what I wanted when I brought him my idea. The shading alone took two hours and this tattoo isn't very large. (Although it's my biggest tattoo so far.) RayRay did an awesome job and I have no complaints from him. He was even using this tattoo on his online portfolio! This one is pretty original if you ask me. Last summer when I was at the beach I kept getting stared at by this group of girls and I had NO clue why. They finally approached me and were asking about my tattoo and what it was. That's always cool, people asking me about my tattoos and showing me theirs.
How about you guys? Any awesome tattoos you want to show or talk about?
That's all for now!
xoxo
